WHO's gift to Ayurveda in 2023
The standardized definitions in the WHO International Standard Terminologies on Ayurveda document can benefit Ayurveda stakeholders in several ways- to support education, practice, regulation, research, drug development, and integration - helping to advance evidence-based, safe and effective Ayurveda globally.
It provides standardized definitions for over 3600 Ayurvedic terms, covering key concepts and practices within Ayurveda and aims to promote the safe and effective practice of Ayurveda globally. This terminology resource has far-reaching implications for Ayurveda stakeholders worldwide.

Provides concise definitions for fundamental Ayurvedic concepts.
Outlines core treatment modalities including panchakarma (five cleansing therapies) and rasayana (rejuvenation therapy).
Covers major diagnostic frameworks such as trividha pariksha (three-component examination) and dashavidha pariksha (tenfold examination).
Defines clinical conditions and disease classification systems per Ayurvedic principles.
Elucidates key pharmacognostic concepts and Ayurvedic approaches to drug preparation.
Explains fundamental principles of Ayurvedic pathology like samprapti (evolution of disease) and rogapariksha (disease assessment).

CAYEIT remained steadfast in its mission to revolutionize the Ayurveda landscape through education, technology, and innovation, achieving the following notable milestones, among others:
Developed the world's first 'Ayurveda AI', which has been utilized by over 20,000 individuals globally.
Launched two groundbreaking AI-based tools: the Shloka Interpreter and AyurChef.
Significantly contributed to the propagation of Ayurvedic knowledge in the global community through the publication of 'Ayurveda Post'.
Authored and published the influential White Paper titled "The Status and Practice of Ayurveda in the United States - An Empirical Review Examining Growth, Regulation, Education, and Integration", which was released at the National Consortium of Ayurveda Medicine (NCAM) conference in Orlando, USA, in 2023.
AYURVEDA-Way forward in 2024
Based on observed trends and AI-enabled analyses, Ayurveda is poised for tremendous growth and global acceptance by 2024. This will be driven by five key factors:
Scientific validation of Ayurvedic principles and treatments through more high-quality research will boost confidence by establishing safety and efficacy for various conditions.
Standardization efforts like the WHO terminology guidelines will increase reliability and quality assurance in Ayurvedic education, products and practice.
Greater integration of Ayurveda into mainstream health systems will enhance access to Ayurvedic medicine and care. Integrative healthcare will gain strong momentum.
Adopting technology and AI in research, product development and practice will allow personalization, improve effectiveness and expand the reach of Ayurveda.
Growing consumer preference for natural products and ancient holistic wisdom will further propel worldwide acceptance of Ayurveda as people seek wholesome wellbeing solutions.
By 2024, these key factors will fuel increasing global adoption of Ayurveda as both individuals and health systems realize its potential for holistic and integrative care. Ayurveda's growth story will stand out among traditional systems of medicine.
